It’s a very special day when you get to see your step-sister get married to her highschool sweetheart!! Jillian has officially been my step-sister for 10 years now and has been together with Zack before then! Zack’s family thought they’d never see the day where he’d get married. But being with Jillian, how could he resist! They are each other’s best friends, have known each other since high school, have a love for animals and have a little furry family of their own. I was so happy when Zack popped the question. The same night of the proposal, I remember Jillian messaging me, asking me to be their photographer. Of course I said yes!
Although they weren’t able to have the wedding last year, due to Covid restrictions, I can honestly say it was well worth the wait! It was so nice to see family and friends gathered on this very special day, from far and near. Lots of memories were made and the laughter shared between each other was in full swing. I saw some family members I hadn’t seen in 10 years, and it was the same for many others. The toasts made the guests a little teary; Fun memories of the bride and groom were shared. The reception room was so full of love, so full of joy and so full of excitement for Zack and Jillian. I kept thinking all day “Wow, what an amazing day!”. I wish I could express in words how amazing the day was, seeing my step-sister get married to Zack!
My step-dad, Mark and my mom were the ones that brought our two families together, 10 year ago. I never had a sister here on earth, so Jillian and my other step-sister, Brianna, are very special to me. The days leading up to the wedding day, I was dreaming up all the sweet memories I was going to capture for them. One of my memories from the wedding day was when my step-dad, Mark, and Jillian shared a first look before the ceremony, as well as their daddy-daughter first dance. When Mark, turned around, his face lit up with such joy seeing his daughter, Jillian, in her wedding dress for the first time. They shared a big, warm hug. Jillian gave a beautiful custom made cloth tissue that says “I’m a bride today, tomorrow a wife, but I’m always your little girls for life”. It got a little emotional. Jillian shed a tear and Mark was smiling for as long as my shutter kept going!
All in all, Zack’s and Jillian’s wedding day was a dream. There was so much to be a part of and so much to capture. My shutter kept clicking as the day rolled out to be my favorite day of the year. From the details, to the emotion, to the setting, and the joy felt by all, it couldn’t have been more amazing than it was. Zack’s parent raised such a caring and kind man and I am so happy to have him officially a part of the family now (although truly he always was).
