Josh & Tori | Grande Prairie Wedding Photographer | Kayla Lynn Photography

Today, I am so excited to tell you about Josh’s and Tori’s gorgeous August wedding!! Their day was so full of love and joy –  This beautiful couple and their guests were all so happy to celebrate this very special day!

Josh and Tori are such a sweet, easy going, down to earth couple that love each other and the people around them so deeply! When I first met Josh and Tori, it was very apparent they love to laugh together, and that is one of the many things I just love about Josh and Tori!

Although it rained for a part of their day, I wasn’t going to let that stop them from having gorgeous photos!! They had a beautiful indoor ceremony in their church, then we did all of their family photos in the modern art gallery with their immediate family. The rain held off a little more for their receiving line where all of their guests congratulated the newlyweds.  When it came time for their bridal party and bridal party portraits, I found the most perfect purple brick wall that suited so well with the guys’ black suits and the girls’ burgundy bridesmaid  dresses. The best part? There was an overhang to protect us from the rain!! As soon as we wrapped up photos along the purple brick wall, the rain stopped and we walked along the paths for some photos near tall trees, with my clear umbrellas. Although the rain had cleared for most of their portraits, we still utilized the clear umbrellas because they look so beautiful in photos! It was perfect!

Josh and Tori, thank you for having me capture your very special day. I really enjoyed every second of it.  You two are one of the kindest, warmest, most genuine people and it’s such an honor to have been your wedding photographer! It’s couples like you and families like yours that make me love my job so much. Enjoy scrolling through your wedding gallery with some of my top favorites!

Dreamy Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Micro-Wedding

jasper park lodge fairmont jasper wedding venue beautiful special day with randy and ashton wedding colors navy and burgundy small mirco intimate wedding day with light and airy Alberta wedding photographer

Randy and Ashton are now married and their day was an absolute dream come true!!

This beautiful couple said their vows at the Jasper Park Lodge Fairmont, one of the most breathtaking venues in all of Canada. However, what might surprise you is that Jasper wasn’t in the original plans! At some point during the wedding planning season, Ashton reached out to me and asked if I would be okay if they moved their wedding location to Jasper instead of Grande Prairie.  That was an immediate YES from me.  I absolutely love the mountains, but I love it even more when couples invite me to capture their love story in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Although I am in the mountains several times a year, Jasper never gets old for me – I love it there so much!

Randy’s and Ashton’s wedding day was so wonderful and the views were incredible. You can bet that made my photographer’s heart very happy. The overcast skies over the deep blue Jasper Park Lodge lake made for the most epic, yet heartfelt photos, throughout the day. Jasper has so much to offer, so we took advantage of several locations for their portraits including Lac Beauvert, photos in the shaded trees, grande mountain views overlooking the Athabasca river and finally, some portraits in front of Lake Annette. It was all so breathtaking.

The lovely couple had only some of their closest family and friends attend their wedding, which truly allowed them to relax, be present and soak in all the moments, on their very special day! I especially loved their “first look” styled ceremony, which allowed for just that! As Ashton finished walking the “aisle”, Randy turned around, his face brightened with such joy and so excited to marry his best friend, Ashton. The happy tears came through and the space got a little emotional. Towards the end of the ceremony, they were SO excited to finally be married and the guests congratulated them through warm smiles and big hugs. Shortly after, they sat inside the Lodge to enjoy some appetizers with all of their guests. I loved how their  intimate wedding truly allowed them to enjoy those special moments in between!

Randy and Ashton, thank you for inviting me to capture your very special day that I will always remember to be one of my favorites. Although the Jasper views were incredible, it’s the couple and their story, you, I loved photographing the most. Your genuine love for each other is so inspiring – I love that you two are always enjoying life to the fullest even in the little moments, together. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you more as a couple for over a year and so happy that you two are MARRIED! Enjoy many favorites from your special day!

Shawn & Caitlyn | Grande Prairie Wedding Photographer | Kayla Lynn Photography

Shawn and Caitlyn are married!! It has been over a week since their big day and I keep thinking how amazing their day truly was. The day was gorgeous as could be, the couple looked absolutely stunning, and best of all, the party was in full swing! Leading up to their wedding date, there was uncertainty surrounding Covid, but we were all so happy they were still able to have the wedding of their dreams!

There is so much to love about Shawn’s and Caitlyn’s wedding day! The morning of the wedding day, Caitlyn got to share a special first look with her bridesmaids, then her dad! I love how first looks bring much excitement, love and joy before the ceremony ever happens. The bridesmaids squealed with excitement as they saw Caitlyn in her wedding dress for the first time. She looked like an absolute princess! The daddy-daughter first look made them a little teary and was so full of love and joy – Dad’s face lit up in pure excitement seeing his daughter for the first time in her wedding dress. It was so incredibly special to photograph this very memorable moment!

Their wedding day was so aesthetically beautiful in so many ways! Their ceremony was held at gorgeous Serenity Acres, Grande Prairie’s hidden gem of a wedding venue. I love how much variety Serenity Acres has to offer from the abundance of trees, the rustic barn, the friendly horses and the famous lookout view for photos. I especially loved how Shawn and Caitlyn intentionally set up some special photo collages of the two of them amongst the wooded path leading up to their ceremony – Something fun for their guests to enjoy leading up to the ceremony site! The ceremony in itself was so magical. Trees surrounded the couple from all angles, the sun was bright and the couple was so happy to marry each other!

Shawn and Caitlyn, your day was a dream day and I feel so honored to have been chosen to capture it!! Although the day was warm and beautiful, it’s you, the couple, that I loved photographing the most. It’s such a gift when I get to photograph the sweetest couples like you. Thank you for entrusting me with your photo memories. I will always remember how special your day was. Enjoy scrolling through your wedding blog gallery!!

Tayler & Chelsea | Grande Prairie Wedding Photographer | Kayla Lynn Photography

The day has finally arrived! Tayler & Chelsea are married!! This day was a long time coming, especially with Covid trying to mess with their plans, but although it may have changed their original wedding date it couldn’t stop them from having the wedding of their dreams!

Tayler & Chelsea are such a sweet couple and so well suited to each other. We had so much fun throughout their wedding day and it was hard to believe it had been over a year since I last saw them for their beautiful Jasper engagement session! It felt like almost no time had passed at all!! There was so much laughter and joy throughout their entire day, especially thanks to their delightful bridal party who certainly know how to crack them up!

Their wedding day was originally calling for a high chance of rain right up until the last minute, but when their day actually arrived we didn’t have a single drop of rain! We all agreed that it was 100% an answer to prayer, as there had been a LOT of us praying for a clear day! We were actually hot on their wedding day but nobody minded because we had fully expected to get soaked haha!

Their wedding colors were so perfect for a light & airy photography style, with blush bridesmaid dresses and dark blue tones for the guys! There is something about that color combination that just photographs like a DREAM and I think you will agree when you see their pictures that it was absolutely gorgeous!!

There were so many meaningful moments interwoven throughout Tayler & Chelsea’s wedding day. From the beautiful Catholic ceremony to the tail end of their reception, personal touches were everywhere! They have been together for years now, and it was so sweet to get to discover a few highlights of their love story. Their reception venue was the very same location where, dancing at someone else’s wedding, Tayler first told Chelsea that he couldn’t wait to marry her one day. And here they were, years later, on that same dance floor dancing as newlyweds!!

Tayler & Chelsea, I absolutely loved getting to photograph your wedding day!! Congratulations again on embarking on this new adventure together! You are such a beautiful couple and I have full confidence that there are amazing things in store for you. Always keep pursuing each other and be extravagant in giving out grace! 🙂 May God richly bless your marriage!

Enjoy a few of our favorites from your wedding day!

Zack & Jillian | Alberta Wedding Photographer | Kayla Lynn Photography

zack and jillian sheerwood park wedding at the garden center woth light and airy photographer near edmonton alberta summer dusty blue wedding

It’s a very special day when you get to see your step-sister get married to her highschool sweetheart!! Jillian has officially been my step-sister for 10 years now and has been together with Zack before then! Zack’s family thought they’d never see the day where he’d get married. But being with Jillian, how could he resist! They are each other’s best friends, have known each other since high school, have a love for animals and have a little furry family of their own. I was so happy when Zack popped the question. The same night of the proposal, I remember Jillian messaging me, asking me to be their photographer. Of course I said yes!

Although they weren’t able to have the wedding last year, due to Covid restrictions, I can honestly say it was well worth the wait! It was so nice to see family and friends gathered on this very special day, from far and near.  Lots of memories were made and the laughter shared between each other was in full swing. I saw some family members I hadn’t seen in 10 years, and it was the same for many others. The toasts made the guests a little teary; Fun memories of the bride and groom were shared. The reception room was so full of love, so full of joy and so full of excitement for Zack and Jillian. I kept thinking all day “Wow, what an amazing day!”. I wish I could express in words how amazing the day was, seeing my step-sister get married to Zack!

My step-dad, Mark and my mom were the ones that brought our two families together, 10 year ago. I never had a sister here on earth, so Jillian and my other step-sister, Brianna, are very special to me. The days leading up to the wedding day, I was dreaming up all the sweet memories I was going to capture for them. One of my memories from the wedding day was when my step-dad, Mark,  and Jillian shared a first look before the ceremony, as well as their daddy-daughter first dance. When Mark, turned around, his face lit up with such joy seeing his daughter, Jillian, in her wedding dress for the first time. They shared a big, warm hug. Jillian gave a beautiful custom made cloth tissue that says “I’m a bride today, tomorrow a wife, but I’m always your little girls for life”.  It got a little emotional. Jillian shed a tear and Mark was smiling for as long as my shutter kept going!

All in all, Zack’s and Jillian’s wedding day was a dream. There was so much to be a part of and so much to capture. My shutter kept clicking as the day rolled out to be my favorite day of the year. From the details, to the emotion, to the setting, and the joy felt by all, it couldn’t have been more amazing than it was. Zack’s parent raised such a caring and kind man and I am so happy to have him officially a part of the family now (although truly he always was).

Zack and Jillian, I am so incredibly happy for you two. Your day was even more amazing than I could have ever imagined, and it was an honor to be your photographer for your very special day! I really hope you two enjoy scrolling through your wedding blog, reliving your wedding! Enjoy!

Spencer & Casey | Purple & Green Forest Wedding | Kayla Lynn Photography

casey and spencer backyard wedding nature in the backyard with fun light and airy photographer

Casey and Spencer booked my photography services, as soon as my bookings opened up for 2021, two years ago, so as you can imagine I have been SO excited for this day to finally come! Their wedding was held on Spencer’s parent’s acreage, surrounded by tons of trees and their closest family and friends. It was the perfect place to hold their wedding celebrations!

The week of their wedding, the forecast was calling for rain, mostly during their family and bridal party portraits. Because of this, I had full intentions of using my umbrellas for photos. However on the wedding day, it had only rained in the morning and cleared up JUST on time for their first look and outdoor ceremony, with absolutely NO rain during their wedding photos! It couldn’t have been more perfect timing than that.

Spencer and Casey have a great sense of humor and love to have FUN, so did their bridal party! They made it clear they wanted some silly, yet fun photos on their wedding day, so I made sure to get PLENTY of those photos for them. Casey, Spencer and their bridal party were always up for my crazy ideas, which resulted in some fun photos as a group and together, which I love!

Spencer and Casey, thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to capture your wedding memories. I am so happy you two have found each other.  You two are an absolute perfect match! I am excited to see you two become such incredible parents to your little one on the way, this upcoming winter, and capture more precious memories for you. I hope you enjoy scrolling through these few favorites and reliving your wedding day! Congratulations to the both of you!

Damon & Deanna | A Backyard Summer Wedding

damon and deannas wedding photos in spirit river gordondale alberta with wedding photographer for their blush and navy wedding against and by the river valley hot summer day

This beautiful wedding took place at the same location that one of our other sweet couples got married, a few years ago.  I can tell you that it is always a DREAM photographing a wedding here! This private property overlooks the river valley and the light is always so amazing for photos. But most importantly, I love the friendly family and friends that always get to be a part of it all!

I absolutely loved being a part of Damon’s and Deanna’s very special day! As mentioned during the speeches, they are the absolute perfect match – You can just feel it when you are with them! You can hear it in the stories that their families and friends shared about them. They are true soulmates and best friends. They always bring out the best in each other, such a kind hearted and joyful couple. It was a pleasure capturing the joy they feel whenever they are together.

Deanna’s and Damon’s wedding was captured in a historic heat wave here in Alberta, however you would never be able to tell by looking at the photos. The secret? Lots of water, breaks in between portraits, photos in the shade and a fun photo experience to take our minds off the heat a bit! I love that despite covid restrictions and the historical heat wave, these two were still able to enjoy their day to the fullest with some of their closest friends and family! It was such a good day.

Damon and Deanna, thank you for trusting me to capture your most special memories. I will never forget how beautiful and how special your day was. Your joy is contagious and your love for each other is so beautiful. I enjoyed capturing just that. I hope you love your memories as much as I loved documenting them for you!

Reid & Brhianna | An Elegant Boho Micro-Wedding

brhianna and reid intimate boho grande prairie wedding intimate micro wedding photographer neutral tones and light blues

Reid & Brhianna had the most beautiful boho inspired, pampas grass filled wedding, here in Grande Prairie, back in March. It’s not every day I get to photograph a wedding on a Thursday in the month of March, but it just happened to be a perfect day!  Brhianna & Reid were originally planning to get married mid-May, however, due to the restrictions coming into place, they decided to get married sooner  – I am so happy they did!

Their sweet family friends allowed their ceremony to take place in their spacious, beautiful home. Their ceremony location was truly a photographer’s dream, while glowing light came in from all angles! They held hands and said their vows, in front of a cozy brick fireplace with some of their closest family and friends. There were happy tears and the room felt so full of love. They had Take96 video tape their ceremony and special day, so that the family and friends that they wish could attend, could join in, on this part of their day with them, later.

Within a one month time frame, everyone came together to prepare for their very special day. From bouquets, the cake, makeup for the girls, and more, so many people came together to make their day so amazing.

I absolutely love Brhianna and Reid. They are one of the kindest, most caring people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. They love people and it was evident they have such an amazing group of close family and friends that loves them well, too. Capturing their love for each other and the people they care about was such a joy. The connection they have with each other is so special, and It is such a blessing getting to work with such kind and caring couples like Brhianna and Reid!

Brhianna and Reid, It was a privilege and honor to capture your very special day. I will never forget it.  Thank you for trusting me to capture one of the most important days of your life. Enjoy scrolling through some of my favorites, from your very special day!

Kim & Jerrica | Grande Prairie Wedding Photographer | Kayla Lynn Photography

kim and jerrica wedding for the small wedding elopement at wedding venue in grande prairie with pretty fall colors Kim’s and Jerrica’s wedding has quickly become a new favorite, and I am SO excited to share their photos with you, today!  I had the pleasure of shooting their wedding day at the lovely Millwood Country Inn, this past Thursday, one of my favorite venues in the Grande Prairie area!

I will never forget their wedding day for so many reasons.  It was filled with tears, excitement and so much joy.  There wasn’t a single part of the day I didn’t love.  It was all so beautiful!

After 9 years of being together, it was so wonderful to see these two say “I do”.  Within those 9 years, they dated long distance, while one of them lived in Canada and the other worked in the Philippines.  Years later, they both settled into Canada where they would start a part of their life together.

All the details incorporated into their special day were very well thought out and so beautiful. I loved the way Kim & Jerrica included an abundance of pampas grass, gold accents,  creams and pastels for their wedding.  The gold chiavari chairs by Rustic Rebellion Events & Rentals paired with blush napkins and a large floral centerpiece on each table brought a very elegant feel to their special day.  My photographer heart was on overdrive, the entire day!  I especially loved working with such a talented, creative team,  while photographing the lovely bridal party with their dreamy, pampas grass bouquets made by The Little Petal Co.

Most of the guests attending their wedding were close friends, but covid didn’t stop their friends and family from far away, to be a part of their special day, too. Sitting in the corner of the reception area, there was a big screen tv, playing personal videos from their closest family and friends living in the Philippines.  Although Covid has truly brought some challenges for our sweet 2020 couples, it was touching to see all their guests near and far congratulating the newlyweds.  Watching those videos proved one thing – no matter the distance, Kim & Jerrica are so incredibly loved by their family and friends, near and from the other side of the world.

Kim & Jerrica, I loved being a part of your special day.  From the moment we sat down together, at Jeffrey’s Cafe in Grande Prairie less than a year ago, to hear about your story and your plans for your wedding, I couldn’t wait for this day to come!  You two are one of the most kindest couples I have ever met, making it an honor and pleasure to serve you on your wedding day, every step of the way.  I hope you love your memories as much as I loved documenting them for you!

Eric & Lindsay | Grande Prairie Wedding Photographer | Kayla Lynn Photography

wedding photos black and white in sexsmith grande prairie alberta classic wedding photos canola fields

It’s not every weekend that I get to photograph not one, but TWO weddings!  With Eric’s and Lindsay’s wedding being on a Sunday, there was no better way than to end the weekend, celebrating and photographing their big day!

I always get excited when I get to photograph people that I’ve known for years. I’ve known Mr. Goodwin through computer class, since high school. When I met Lindsay for the first time at our local coffee shop, I instantly knew how she was the perfect fit for Eric. They are both calm, kind and always make people around them feel so welcome. I felt so happy that Mr. Goodwin found such a sweet woman that he now gets to call his wife!

Eric and Lindsay had such a beautiful wedding day! They got married in a white church, located in Sexsmith, surrounded by some of their closest family and friends, near and far. A live video camera was set up, so that all their family and friends watched them say their “I-Do’s”.  It was so incredibly sweet getting to photograph this very special moment.  They spent the rest of the evening, visiting with friends, with an abundant amount of dessert.  I think they won the best wedding dessert award. The lemon tarts and homemade oreo cookies were to die for!

Eric and Lindsay, I have to thank you again for allowing me to be a part of such an important season in your life. Capturing your happy memories and love for each other was truly a joy.  It’s couples like you that makes this the best joy in the world.  You two are truly something special and I am so excited for both of you, as you embark on a brand new journey in your life!
