They say that good things come to those who wait… and for Brandon & Cassidy, that was definitely proven true! These two have been waiting to tie the knot for a long time, but since Covid had other plans their original wedding day was pushed back an entire year! Can I just say though that after this weekend, I can absolutely agree that these two were worth waiting for!!
All throughout their wedding day, there were so many moments that made you catch your breath. One of my favourites was actually right before Cassidy was about to walk down the aisle, when I suddenly looked up into the sky and there was a gorgeous rainbow shining down!! It was too perfect. Cassidy made such a sweet gesture too for this special moment by asking both her dad and step-dad to walk her down the aisle, which was so touching! Some couples worry that having a first look beforehand will make the ceremony less special, but this wedding was a perfect example of how that does not need to be a concern. It was such a sweet, emotional time and Brandon was clearly feeling all of it as he watched his beautiful bride walk to him!!
Ever since we first started talking about weddings, Cassidy told me how much she wanted to incorporate sunflowers into their day and she did not disappoint!! They were such a beautiful addition to their decor, bouquets, and everything else. I felt like the sunflowers were such a great representation of them and their big day: Beautiful, vibrant, and full of life!
Speaking of full of life, can we talk for a minute about their bridal party? They were so much fun to capture and made it so enjoyable! Sometimes bridal party photos can take a lot of finagling but not with these guys; they were a treat to work with!!
I have to admit though, that as stunning as the rest of the wedding was, the reception really stole the show for me! Cassidy is a first grade teacher, and she asked her students in advance to write down some good marriage advice for them that they could display at their reception tables. This turned out even better than you’re probably imagining One of my favourite cards read: “They should always say I love you even if they are grumpy. The boy should always buy the flowers. The girl should go shopping for raisins and other stuff. And you have to ask someone to marry you or nobody will.” Needless to say, the crowd was in an absolute uproar over them!!
It wasn’t always just about the laughs, though! As much fun as we had together, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house when Cassidy and her mother took to the floor for their mother/daughter dance. It was so clear how proud Cassidy’s mother is of her and the love that was radiating from them was so touching. All throughout the evening, you could just feel the love emanating from their friends and family like that. And although they had many guests present, somehow the wedding still felt so intimate and special!
Brandon & Cassidy, it was an absolute pleasure getting to photograph your beautiful wedding day. I’m so happy for you both. You are such a sweet, thoughtful couple and I loved getting to capture all the big and little moments for you to cherish forever. I hope this is just the beginning of many wonderful adventures together as you start your new life as husband & wife And, of course, never forget to say “I love you” even if you’re grumpy, buy Cassidy flowers, and go shopping for raisins!!
