Photographing this intimate elopement just fills my heart!!! I have been wanting to photograph another elopement for such a long time and I am so thankful that Jesse and Brieanna allowed me to be a part of their big day!
Shortly after their fifth year anniversary, Jesse and Brienna decided to go to the mountains, while it was winter. Earlier that summer, Jesse and Brieanna went shopping for engagement rings. Jesse wanted to make sure that he chose the perfect ring and that the ring would be the right size from the start! While in Jasper, they went on gorgeous scenic hikes with breathtaking views. Brieanna suspected that he would pop the question while being on their trip! They did multiple hikes, and on each hike, there was always another couple enjoying the view. On their fifth hike, there was a trail that opened up to the most amazing view of Jacques Lake. Jesse got down on one knee, and of course Brienna said yes!
Their ceremony was held at Serenity Acres with their five closest family members, and it was nothing but perfect. There was a gorgeous lookout view, filled with an abundance of fall colors, as the sun glowed lightly from the cloudy skies. Brieanna’s mother added beautiful florals to their triangular arch, filled with greenery, burgundies and the most pretty exotic florals. Their five closest family members sat in black chairs, as Jesse looked excited to soon see his wife-to-be. Brienna walked down the path with her father, surrounded by colorful trees. It was at that moment that Jesse smiled so brightly, as he saw her for the first time!
As I captured Jesse’s and Brieanna’s portraits, what stood out to me is how in love these two are! We had a full hour of bride and groom portraits, and they were such naturals!! They just kept smiling, and I loved every minute of getting to capture this joyful part of their lives!
Jesse and Brieanna, photographing your day was an absolute photographer’s dream. I feel so honored to capture a part of your big day, as you begin this exciting chapter in your lives! You two are so perfect for each other, and I wish you two all the happiness in the world as Mr. and Mrs Kroeker!
Thank you to all of these amazing vendors who made their day so perfect!
It all began at the Teepee Creek Rodeo when Steven and Gina met for the first time, years ago. They would have never thought that meeting each other at the rodeo, would lead to something bigger than they imagined… becoming true friends and marrying each other, someday! Since then, they stayed connected and would have endless amount of conversations! They would often text each other throughout the day, with three to five different conversations going on all at the same time. The conversations they shared were so good that oftentimes they would surpass the number of words the texting app would allow for – That in itself proves how perfect these two are for each other!
On their wedding day, we couldn’t be more thrilled than to see this lovely couple get married. The day was perfect; no rain, not too hot, not too cold… just right. Family from all over, came to celebrate this very special day with them. The best part was seeing these two get married in the SAME place they first met, Teepee Creek! We got to witness this couple get married in front of the white church and celebrating with all of their loved ones. From the moment we walked into the getting ready room, to the moment they shared a fun dance with their bridal party… we loved capturing it all.
There were so many things about their big day that was so special. Steven & Gina started off the day by gifting each other personalized gifts, the morning of the wedding day. Steven gifted Gina the most perfect, delicate bracelet, in which she wore the whole day! As you scroll through the images, you’ll notice a black and white photo of Steven, reading from a notebook. This notebook contained pages of handwritten notes Gina had written while they were still dating, leading up to the wedding day! We just loved how thoughtful these two were, not just to each other, but towards each and every single one of their wedding guests. Gina also wrapped her mother’s rosary around her bouquet and included some of her mother’s favorite white carnations. It was the most cherishing way to include her on the wedding day!
Steven & Gina, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for including us on your big day (and giving us permission to eat the most delicious cinnamon buns!) We wish you nothing but the absolute best as you begin this exciting adventure, together!
Special thanks to these amazing vendors who contributed to their big day!
I first met Lina as a makeup artist at one of my couple’s wedding, a couple years ago. I remember how friendly Lina was, and how comfortable she made all the bridesmaids feel as she did their wedding makeup. Fast forward two years later, I would have never thought I would be capturing Chris’ and Lina’s big day!! Still to this day, Lina has the same friendly personality that makes you want to hang around all the time, Chris included! These two truly enjoyed their day to the fullest. I could see their excitement through their bright, beautiful smiles throughout the whole day, and we loved capturing it!
We would photograph their day over and over again any day, if we could! To start the day, Chris and Lina both gifted each other a vow book with sweet words written inside, as well as a few gifts. As Lina read her note from Chris, her face lit up with joy. She then carefully opened up a small white box. Inside laid the the most beautiful, delicate necklace, with a special engravement on the inside of the box that read, ‘Best Friend, True Love’. She then carefully placed the necklace around her neck, about to marry the man of her dreams! That morning as Chris opened his box full of goodies from Lina, he held the vow book and began to read it. His face lit up, full of joy, as well! Not too long after, Chris shared the warmest hug with his mother. It was the little moments like these we felt so blessed to witness and document through our cameras!
The best part was seeing these two get married. Chris’ and Lina’s daughters were the flower girls, and I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to include them in the wedding! It was so cute seeing them as down the aisle!
Last but not least, there were so many incredible vendors that made their day absolutely breathtaking! Their wedding reception was held at the Pomeroy Hotel & Conference Center, and it was beautifully decorated by talented wedding planner, Rhonda with Changing Dreams to Reality! The design was simple and elegant, yet beautiful! There were elegant florals on each table, gold chiavari chairs placed at the head table and the most DELICIOUS sweets made by Chris’ aunt! I even snagged a few of her soft gingersnap cookies for my drive home, they were amazing!! I wish I could make cookies as delicious as her’s! Victoria with Victoria Brandsma Hair did Lina’s stylish updo, which looked as beautiful at the end of the day!
Chris and Lina, we feel honored getting to spend this very special day, with you two!! You are the reason why we love what we do, getting to photograph couples madly in love and so full of life! Enjoy some of our favorites from your big day!
Groom getting ready portraits captured by talented second photographer, Haley!
Huge thank you to all of the lovely vendors who were a part of their big day! You all made their day amazing!
When Chris & Kaytlin first inquired with us, I was excited to hear their wedding was going to be held in Falher, a small town located in Alberta! A part of my mother’s side of the family is from the Falher area, and I was excited to go back and shoot a wedding there!
I have been looking forward to Chris & Kaytlin’s wedding day for a long time now. We absolutely love these two and it seems like yesterday, getting to know Chris and Kaytlin during their engagement session. Their engagement portraits were captured on a 6+ winter day, while their wedding day was very warm and full of sun! We couldn’t have asked for better weather, especially since rain was originally in the forecast. When I look at their wedding day portraits, I see a beautiful young couple, so full of life and love. They both radiate with joy when they are together, which truly shows in their wedding day portraits. They are each other’s best friends, and we felt so incredibly honored to capture their love for one another.
Documenting their wedding day was amazing and we truly enjoyed every minute of it! From the moment we arrived at the end of the night, when we hugged goodbye, we truly loved being there. Capturing the connecting and emotions between their family and friends, their first look and all the special moments in between was truly spectacular. Watching Chris and Kaytlin read their vows to each other as they are about to say their “I dos” made us a little teary.
We ended the night by taking Chris & Kaytlin out for some sunset portraits, next to a field full of greens and the dreamiest light imaginable! If we could have photographed them longer, we definitely would have! We truly enjoyed capturing their love for each other and their contagious smiles. They even walked through a patch of tall grass, just for their wedding day portraits. They then hopped into their vehicle, and enjoyed the rest of the night with their guests.
Chris & Kaytlin, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for having us capture your special day. It’s couples like you that make this the best job in the world. Enjoy some of our favorites!
Thank you to these amazing vendors for making their day awesome!
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of capturing Mikey’s and Anna’s engagement photos. I only met them in person a short few weeks before their wedding day, but it feels like I’ve known them much longer than that! Anyone who meets Mikey and Anna would feel the exact same way. It is just so easy to feel connected through their fun and joyful personalities!! As I listened to Mikey’s and Anna’s wedding speech, they expressed so much gratitude towards all of those who contributed to making their day so special, and to all of those who came to celebrate their special day with them. They genuinely care about other people, and that’s one of the things I admire most about Mikey and Anna!
Their wedding was held in Grande Cache, and it was gorgeous in so many ways! The ceremony was held at the labyrinth park, overlooking some of the most scenic mountain views. It was cloudy and cool, as the sun peeked out every once in a while. Not only did they pick the most perfect place for their ceremony with a spectacular mountainous backdrop, but the reception venue was decorated so beautifully!! It was full of flowers, white tables, blush decor and elegant floral hoops hung above the head table. I loved seeing Anna’s vision and creativity come to life. My favorite piece was the rose gold table numbers with real dried flowers! Anna loves collecting dried pressed flowers, so it was the perfect way to display it on her wedding day!
One of the things I noticed about Mikey and Anna is how loved they are by their family and friends! Each and every one of their guests were so excited to celebrate their day with them, including their fun bridal party! There was lots of dancing, tears, hugs and laughter. We loved capturing all of the special and emotional moments throughout their day!
Mikey and Anna, thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for having us capture your wedding day. We are so incredibly excited for you two, as husband and wife! Getting to know you two, throughout the whole process is such a treat. We loved every minute of it. Enjoy reliving your day, through your wedding blog!
Thank you to all the amazing family, friends and vendors for making their day so special!
These summer weddings are known to be hot, but I’m loving every minute of it! Kyle’s and Nicole’s wedding day was no exception. It was a beautiful, warm summer day, at the Clarkson Hall wedding venue, at Evergreen Park, near Grande Prairie. The light beamed through the enchanting spruce trees for their simplistic woodland themed wedding, producing the most magical images, full of glow! This will forever be one of my favorite place to capture weddings in the Grande Prairie area. I am so happy with all the gorgeous portraits we captured for Kyle and Nicole!!!
It was an absolute joy to be with Kyle & Nicole on their wedding day! Everything went perfectly as planned. The day started with Nicole’s mom helping her put on her dress, and lastly that morning, sharing a first look with all of her bridesmaids sanding on the stair steps. As Nicole walked out of the getting ready room, the reactions of her bridesmaids were priceless. Nicole’s sister, Kara, quickly walked down the stairs to give her a hug! Both Bread & Wine Films and I captured this special moment, and it was such an honor to witness this memory, the morning of their wedding day!
A lot of work goes into the wedding day, and I can’t thank all the family, friends and vendors enough for making their day memorable! The wedding planner who I adore, Rhonda and her team with Changing Dreams to Reality, really brought an elegant feel to their wedding day with all their decor and planning expertise! The ceremony and reception venue was FULL of greenery. I especially loved the simple, yet elegant white decor that was displayed. Growers Direct created bouquets that will forever be my favorite, full of greens such as eucalyptus and white roses! And lastly, Carmen’s CraZ Cakes made a beautiful sumptuous cake full of fresh flowers and greenery. I wanted to eat it, but we left it for the guests to enjoy!
Kyle and Nicole, you two are such an incredible couple. Your committed love for one another was shining so brightly throughout your entire wedding day. We couldn’t be more excited for both of you! Thank you so much for choosing us to be the ones to document all of these special memories for you! Enjoy!!!
Ps. We got to work with Bread & Wine Films! I attached the sneak peek trailer below!
Thank you to all the wonderful vendors who made their day amazing!
Seeing my cousin, Megan, get married this weekend was truly a joy. A day I will always remember. If you have been following me for a while, you may recognize these two from their engagement session in Newfoundland, last fall! I got to spend time with them for a week taking their photos, exploring some of the most beautiful locations on the east coast. But most importantly, I got to know JD and my cousin Megan more as a couple. The more I got to know them, the more I knew how perfect they are for each other! Through our time spent together, I noticed how much joy they bring to each other. They both love board games (my favorite), cuddling their cats, exploring together and always enjoying the simple things in life.
They got married on Megan’s parent’s acreage and couldn’t have been more spectacular. It was extra special because my auntie Corinne and Uncle Blain got married on the same property, many years ago. The weather was perfect and these two were so full of excitement and joy! I remember visiting my cousin Megan so many times as a kid, building forts in their yard, multiple family gatherings during Christmas time and so much more. This time, it was her wedding day and I couldn’t be more thrilled to spend this day alongside of them, as a photographer, cousin and friend.
JD and Megan, I am so incredibly happy for you two. When I look at these photos, I see a couple so full of life, love and joy. It was evident that you two truly enjoyed your day to the fullest and it was an honor for being chosen to capture it all. Congratulations to the two of you, and welcome to the family, JD!!!
Thank you to the amazing vendors who made their day extra amazing!
One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is having the opportunity to travel to such gorgeous locations for my couples’ wedding day! I have photographed couples in various parts of Canada, but Grande Cache is definitely one of my favorite places to be! Corwin and Amanda got married at a beautiful venue in Grande Cache, overlooking the pretty mountain views and thick clouds surrounding them. It was such a dream!
One of the things that I noticed about Corwin and Amanda is how loved they are by their friends and family, many of which flew all across Canada for their special day! You could tell how excited their guests were to celebrate this exciting day alongside of them. Hearing the speeches nearly brought tears to my eyes, I could feel all the emotions listening to it all. Hearing Corwin’s son, Josh’s, speech was hilarious while Amanda’s dad’s speech nearly made me tear up. Being there to photograph these sweet memories was such a treat!
As soon as I walked into their reception, I was amazed how everything looked so beautiful! There was an amazing handmade floral arch and centerpieces made by Amanda’s mom and aunt, white fabrics draped across the ceiling and delicate details on each table. So many hours and hard work went into the planning and preparation of this day. All the details were to die for!
Although their day was mostly filled with rain, that didn’t stop Amanda and Corwin from enjoying their special day! During their reception, we drove golf carts out to a gorgeous location overlooking the mountain views. The rain had stopped. The air felt fresh, while the atmosphere felt peaceful. It was the perfect way to end the night with their bridal party, then lastly, just the two of them together. As we were wrapping up the final bride and groom portraits, light rain drops began to fall from the sky. Amanda and Corwin sheltered themselves in their golf cart, as they drove back to celebrate the rest of the evening with their guests!
At the end of the night, Corwin and Amanda played a slideshow they created for grandparent’s 50th anniversary. This slideshow displayed their inspiration of the love their grandparents have for each other – A love they strive for their own relationship, together!
Amanda & Corwin, thank you so much for having us to be a part of your special day! It was such an honor capturing it all! We are so excited to finally share some of your wedding day photos. We hope you love your memories as much as we loved documenting them for you!
Thank you to all the amazing vendors who made Corwin’s & Amanda’s wedding day amazing!
Hello! I am Rhonda, the owner of Changing Dreams to Reality, and I love all things related to weddings. Being a wedding planner was one of my dreams for many years, and now turning it into a reality has been a dream come true. I absolutely love meeting new people and working with brides to make their wedding day a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I first worked with Kayla from Kayla Lynn photography, three years ago while helping a friend with her daughter’s wedding. Since then, Kayla and I have worked together on some of the most amazing weddings and some very exciting projects.
There are so many things to think about when it comes to planning your wedding day. This may include choosing your vendors, the wedding day timeline and choosing your decor. Trying to plan all these things without a planner can feel overwhelming. My job as a planner is to guide couples, while also ensuring that every single detail leads to a perfect day! Things like table décor placement, head table placement and lighting are all part of my job as a planner. Just hearing “ Thank you, I wouldn’t have changed a thing about my day” is what makes my job worthwhile. If you are considering hiring a wedding planner for your big day, here are my top five reasons why I feel it is beneficial.
Saves Time and Stress – Planning a wedding consumes so much time, especially with work and life in general. This season in your life is to enjoy being engaged and to not having to stress over every little detail. A planner knows what needs to be done and the timeline to do it in. The fact that you don’t need to figure out all the details on your own will save you so much time and stress.
2. Keep you on Budget- Hiring a wedding planner may seem counterintuitive, however it will actually help you save money in the long run. A planner will work with you and figure out what is most important to you. They also know how to help you cut out the things that aren’t priority. Small decisions can add up to big savings. Wedding planners are familiar with costs in your area and vendors to help you stay within your budget.
3. Knowledge Base – In most cases this will be your first time planning a wedding. Your wedding planner will have an extensive knowledge base of vendors, industry experts, wedding etiquette and venues. They have planned and executed many weddings, and know what it takes to bring your wedding dreams to reality.
4. Mediator – A wedding planner/coordinator can act as a mediator in any situation that may arise. They understand that it is impossible to please everyone all the time, especially when it comes to planning a wedding. A wedding planner is a neutral individual whom is safe to direct all questions, family members, vendors and guests to. It is much easier to just say, “Go ask my wedding planner.” and avoid any sticky situations with family or in laws.
5. Handle Crisis – When issues arise, they will be handled quickly and with care by your wedding planner. You may not even be aware the crisis happened. For this reason alone, a wedding planner is worth their weight in gold.
I really hope you enjoyed my top five reasons why it is so important to hire a planner for your special day. If you found this blog post helpful and are considering hiring a planner, please feel free to reach me through email at email@example.com message me on myFacebook Page to inquire. Let’s go for coffee and let’s bring your wedding dreams to reality!
Waiting for your wedding photos are undoubtedly filled with anticipation. As your email inbox reads “Your photos are ready!”, you are instantly excited to view all your wedding photos! Your photographer sends you a gallery full of BEAUTIFUL photos from your special day… everything from your wedding ceremony, the speeches, the dances and all the special memories in between. In this moment, seeing your images for the first time, is filled with so much excitement. You then go on sharing these photos with your closest family and friends. You save them on your phone, and even use one of them as a screensaver! Weeks, months and sometimes even YEARS pass by, and not a single (or very few) photos have been printed. Life gets busy. While there is nothing wrong with storing your photos online or on a USB, your images deserve more than that. You invested thousands into these precious memories. They deserve to be printed, displayed in your own home. Give them as gifts or let your vision come to life!
Sometimes it’s easy to lose the motivation to print your own photos because there are simply SO many options when it comes to displaying them in your home. It can feel simply overwhelming. The main goal of this blog post is to educate couples which photo products create the most IMPACT! Instead of feeling overwhelmed and thinking about ALL the possibilities, let’s think of products every couple needs after their wedding day! Here are some ways you can starts displaying and printing your wedding photos:
1.Print a Large Canvas!
Printing a large canvas will undoubtedly, create the most impact in your home. What is the one image from your wedding day you can’t live without? Get it printed! Your photo will create a great first impression when guests first walk into your home. Make sure to display your canvas in a visible area to maximize its impact. Maybe it’s in your entrance, the wall beside your kitchen table or above the couch in your living room. Since you are going to want to create a great first impression, I recommend printing your canvas in 24×36 or 18×24! Not only will this large canvas decorate your wall beautifully, but 24×36 or 18×24 is also a very common framing size. Micheal’s has a great collection of frames to add to your canvas and put everything together for a very small fee.
If one large canvas is not enough, you can also make a photo collage around that ONE photo you absolutely love!
2.Decorate your Side Tables
As much as I believe EVERY home should have at LEAST one very large canvas displayed on the wall, use your wedding photos as an opportunity to decorate your side tables. These photos don’t create the same “wow” effect as your large canvas, but it is mostly used to decorate the smaller areas of your home. Think of five photos you absolutely love, and get them printed! I recommend the sizes 5×7 or 8×10 for these smaller decorative framed prints. Use them to decorate your nightstand beside your bed, the side tables beside your couch, or even in your bathroom. Again, Michael’s has a very large selection of 5×7 and 8×10 frames to choose from, so you can choose a frame that fits the aesthetic of your home.
3. Get a High Quality Custom Photo Album
As a photographer, I believe that couples should make their photography and wedding album a top priority. After the big day is over, you will leave your reception with a spouse and your pictures…. that’s it! All of that planning and preparation is over in a matter of hours! So if you’re choosing to invest in high quality photography, those images deserve a classy, elegant home after the wedding. Many professional wedding photographers will help you with the designing process. I offer high end, leather bound Albums for my wedding clients. The images are printed straight onto thick pages and the covers are wrapped with top grain leather. This is the perfect ending to The Wedding Experience and it’s a keepsake that you will be showing your children and grandchildren one day. A lot of my couples pre-purchase a wedding album, so that they can leave the designing process up to me! If you want to see what our beautiful high quality wedding albums look like, please feel free to visit the blog post HERE!
4. Gift Your Wedding Photos!
There is no better way than to gift your wedding photos to your closest family members. Most couples gift a parents album to their grandparents and parents! Parent albums come in the sizes 6×6 or 8×8, and make the most perfect gift! The best part is since parent albums will normally come in the EXACT same layout as your own wedding album, some photographers are able to provide special discount when you order more than one parent album.
5. Make Thank You Cards!
Whether your wedding day was small & intimate or you had lots of guests that came along to celebrate this special day with the two of you, sending a thank you card is the best way to show your appreciation and love for them! Pick 1-3 of your favorite wedding photos and write a sweet message to go along with it. Also, your guests will LOVE having your card displayed on their fridge!
I hope this blog post has been helpful to you as you begin to print your wedding photos! If I have photographed YOUR wedding day and you would still like to get some products printed, I offer a collection of prints, canvas and high quality leather albums. Just let me know, and we can start discussing on how we can create beautiful art in your home!
