Grande PrairieCorbin + ShelbyForest Wedding

Corbin and Shelby are married!! We celebrated their special day in a beautiful forest and they honestly couldn’t have picked a better spot for their wedding! The forest was so magically beautiful and spending it with their family was amazing! Everything was in one beautiful location near two intertwined trees, a special spot we scouted a few weeks before their special day!

From the first time we met over coffee, to shooting their engagement session and now their special day – I have to tell you getting to know Shelby and Corbin was something I truly cherish. These two love other with all the heart and they are such friendly people to hang around!

The best part of the whole day was seeing Corbin and Shelby together happy, in love and married!! These two bring so much happiness to each other, and Shelby says there isn’t a day that passes by where her husband, Corbin, makes her smile. So so sweet!!

One of my favorite moments of the day was seeing Corbin and Shelby see each other for the first time during their “first look”. As Shelby walked towards her new husband to be I knew this was going to be such a special moment between these two. As they turned around facing each other, they gave each other a warm hug, a kiss and their eyes were so full of emotion with the strong love they have for each other. Shelby shed a tear of love, and the emotion between these two was so so beautiful.

Followed by the first look, their close family gathered near two special trees intertwined together for their wedding ceremony. The two trees reminded me of Corbin and Shelby as they begin this special journey together as husband and wife, together!! And soon after, these two were officially husband and wife!!

At the end of the day as the sun glowed beautifully, Shelby, Corbin, their parents and I took a little hike down to the river. At this time of the year, we were so thrilled to know the river was clearest it could be, just on time for their wedding day! Corbin and Shelby walked down along the edge of the river, together as the sun glowed perfectly around them.

Enjoy some of my favorites from Corbin’s and Shelby’s special day!! Congrats Corbin and Shelby! And thank you so much for trusting me on capturing your wedding and love for each other!! I am so happy for you two as husband and wife!!

Enjoy some of my favorites from their special day!! 🙂

Grande PrairieCorbin + ShelbyWinter Engagement Photos

We initially planned to schedule their engagement photos earlier next spring.  When Corbin and Shelby told me they wanted a winter themed shoot instead, I was thrilled to capture their photos in some breathtaking winter scenery. And I am so glad we did! With the fluffy snow and perfect winter weather we’ve been having lately, how could we not! We also couldn’t have asked for a better day for their pictures. The sun was perfect and glowy with not a single trace of wind. We all loved that, especially since wind is so common in Grande Prairie.

We did lots of walking during their session as we made our way up to one of my favorite locations. However, in my opinion, the walking was totally worth it! It allowed us to get to know each other more and we got to shoot at such an amazing location! Our final destination took place in some beautiful hidden winter spot in some spruce trees as the fluffy snow laid still above the branches.

As we walked through this gorgeous winter day, we talked about everything from food to their wedding plans and how they met. I loved getting to know their story, how they were engaged and the little things that make Corbin and Shelby unique. What I admire about Corbin and Shelby is that they love to have fun and are a super friendly couple! I enjoyed all the laughs we shared and most importantly, capturing their amazing love for each other.

I am so excited seeing these two start their life together and become husband and wife in nearly eight months from now! I am sure hoping the time flies by fast because I don’t think I can wait any longer to photograph this adorable couple’s special day! Enjoy some of my favorites of Corbin and Shelby!

Wedding PhotosMegan + JasonDunes Golf & Winter Club

When Megan, her mother, Sydney and I first met at a local coffee shop, I just knew right away we were the perfect fit for each other. Megan and her mother are super friendly, laughable and welcoming. We exchanged several laughs and smiles throughout our conversations. It got me very exited when Megan and her mother decided to book me for Megan’s and her fiance Jason’s wedding! I was so excited!

Megan’s mother gifted Megan and Jason the most perfect wedding gift for their wedding day – A day long photography session with Kayla Lynn Photography!! I truly believe photos are the BEST investment for your wedding day. These are memories you look back on years and generations to come. Of course, the wedding decor, the cake, the party favors are all important aspects of a wedding day. But nothing beats precious memories captured with those who care for most on your very special day!!

On July 30th 2016,  this awesome couple’s wedding was held at the Dune Golf and Winter Club in Grande Prairie. First of all, I just have to say there was so many wonderful people who attended their wedding. Megan and Jason are from the East Coast, so they had a beautiful east coast themed wedding with their friends, family and their adorable daughter Sydney! I’ve been to Nova Scotia four years ago with my family and New Brunswick to compete in nationals for photography, and I totally felt like I was there again as I photographed their special day!! There was beautiful baby’s breath mason jar centerpieces on each table, attached to custom wooden anchors, a big wooden lighthouses and amazing friends and family all from the East Coast.  I loved it so much!

Even with a couple rain drops during their ceremony, I admired the love Jason and Megan have for each other as they stood beneath the wedding arch. After the wedding ceremony, it began to pour a bit heavier. At that moment, I was worried we would no longer have their family portraits outside. So, I prayed for the rain to stop… and in fact, a few minutes later my prayer was answered! The rain had stopped and the sun began to peek out just on time. The air smelled fresh as the sun sprinkled in the sky. It was wonderful we were able to proceed their wedding portraits out in the beautiful sun with such amazing people!! So much love and fun with such sweet people on this special day  – It is a wedding I will never forget.

I would like to send a BIG congrats to Megan, Jason and their adorable daughter Sydney on their sweet marriage!! I am so happy being a part of your special day and So proud of your commitment for each other – Wishing you the BEST marriage filled with never ending love and Joy!!

Your Photographer,

– Kayla
